Easily accessible from all over Europe
The Costa del Sol is exceptionally accessible from all over Europe — with one of the busiest tourist airports in Spain and excellent road connections.
- By air: Málaga Airport is the main gateway, with direct flights from all over Europe, including daily connections from the Netherlands and Belgium. One of the best-connected regional airports in Spain.
- By car: the AP-7/A-7 runs along the entire coast, connecting Málaga with Granada, Seville, and the rest of Spain — with good links to the French motorways via the east coast.
- By train: Renfe connects Málaga with Madrid (2.5 hours by AVE) and Seville (2 hours); local Cercanías lines run along the coast between Málaga and Fuengirola.
- Coastal public transport: bus connections between the coastal towns — in the west (Marbella, Benahavís, Estepona), a car is virtually indispensable for everyday use.
- Parking: in Marbella and along the Golden Mile, parking can be problematic in peak season — outside the centre and in the urbanisations it’s not an issue.
